Heritage Grand Bakery is a bustling restaurant and bakery adjacent to Bryant Park and steps from the New York Public Library in midtown Manhattan. Heritage Grand Bakery is reviving interest in ancient grains by investing significant resources in growing them, specifically Population Wheat, in France and Belgium using time-honored, regenerative farming practices. These nutritious, digestible ancient grains are the cornerstone of the Heritage Grand menu and bakery offerings that boast positive health and environmental benefits.

Heritage Grand is investing in the entire lifecycle of the ancient grains featured on their menus: it is grown in their fields in France and Belgium, shipped to the United States by sailboat under wind power, then milled on site in Astrie Mill that gently remove the bran and shave the kernel, resulting in a superior, healthy flour. This ancient grain flour is used in many menu items, making them more flavorful, nutritious and sustainable. Heritage Grand is meeting the growing demand for sustainable, transparent, and nutrient-rich food by bringing heritage grains and old-world baking practices into the contemporary restaurant and bakery marketplace.

Our Filtered Water

Water is an essential ingredient in the kitchen yet is often overlooked. Our water is first filtered to remove impurities like lead, chlorine, and other chemicals. It is then dynamized to mirror water’s natural journey, using motion, magnetism, and natural minerals. The result is energized water with improved taste and texture that provides better hydration. We use this ingredient in all parts of our restaurant. From the bread to the coffee to the pasta, and everything in between.

Our Coffee

Heritage Grand Bakery is proud to partner with Vassilaros Coffee Company, a historical 4th generation, New York City, family coffee business.

We created our exclusive, specialty coffee blends and Single Origin offerings, through their new specialty coffee project called Evil Eye, serving some of the finest coffees sourced from committed coffee producers around the globe.

Coffee is the most consumed beverage in the United States and provides a number of mental and physical benefits, including the distinct pleasure, when enjoying a truly delicious cup of coffee. Therefore, we are committed to serving high grade specialty coffee in all our drinks, from our filtered and espresso, to our Single Origin Pour-Over program. We celebrate emerging coffee trends, sustainable farms, and brewing techniques that provide flavor and culture.

Our Tea

Our tea is sourced from historic tea-growing regions in direct collaboration with the farmers. We strive to offer an array of the highest quality tea found all over the world, from delicate white tea to complex oolong and pu-erh. We hope to elevate the quality and service of tea, and to share these treasures with new and experienced tea drinkers alike. We invite you to enjoy a pot of tea from our selection at our pour-over bar or during afternoon tea service.
